Rereading
Once in a while, I decide to reread favorite books from the past. Mostly these have been books I’ve read in the past few years. I’ve found audiobooks are a good way to revisit the favorites and sometimes they bring out even more from the books. Then there are books I read when a teenager, and sometimes even younger. I have such good memories of those books and yet I was a very different person at the time. I wonder if those books will stand up after so many years. The Time Traveler’s Wife
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niefenegger. I’ve been hearing about this book for years and saw the audiobook and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, this one just doesn’t work for me and I stopped pretty early on in the story. I found it didn’t make a lot of sense a lot of the time and I didn’t warm to the characters at all. There is also an incidence of cheating that comes up quite early that turned me against Henry’s character. The narrators were okay, I think. I wasn’t that keen on the female voice but I imagine I might have become accustomed to it further along.…

Welcome
I wanted to give a warm and fuzzy welcome to any and all readers of my new blog. I’m a reader of many books and I’ve been writing reviews for a while now. I decided to try out this new project and see how it pans out. The main purpose of the blog is to review books but I also plan to write the occasional posts about books and reading and how it factors into my life.
